Titanium Care & Turbo Screen Installation

Guard Installation Instructions

Installing a turbo guard requires careful handling and safety precautions. Below is a step-by-step guide to ensure a secure and safe installation:

Instructions: The guard is a super tight fit by design you can force it on or use heat to soften the rubber and form it to your inlet. Note: If you choose to install without heat just a little silicone spray or lubricant on the inside of the guard can assist in an easier fit.

1. **Preparation:**

   - The Engine Must be OFF.

   - **Safety First:** Wear gloves and safety goggles to protect yourself from burns or injuries.

   - **Clean the Inlet:** Use a clean cloth to wipe the turbo inlet to ensure it is free from dirt and debris. This will help the turbo guard fit properly and securely.

2. **Heating the Turbo Guard:**

   - **Preheat the Oven:** Set your oven to 160 degrees Fahrenheit (about 71 degrees Celsius) and allow it to preheat.

   - **Prepare the Guard:** Place the turbo guard on a temperature-resistant mat or surface to prevent direct contact with the oven.

   - **Heat the Guard:** Put the turbo guard in the oven for 5 minutes. This will soften the rubber, making it easier to fit onto the inlet.

3. **Installing the Turbo Guard:**

   - **Remove from Oven:** Using gloves, carefully take the turbo guard out and place it on a safe surface.

   - **Install Quickly:** Promptly fit the turbo guard onto the turbo inlet while the rubber is still pliable. Ensure it is aligned correctly. It might require some force to fit, as it is designed to be tight.

4. **Securing the Guard:**

   - Your turbo guard uses a clamp, ensure they are tightened securely using a screwdriver or 5/16 socket while keeping the guard properly aligned.

5. **Final Check:**

   - **Inspect the Fit:** Check that the turbo guard is securely and evenly fitted around the turbo inlet.

   - **Test Run:** Run the engine briefly to verify that the turbo guard remains in place and there are no unusual noises or vibrations.

### Safety Tips:

- **Avoid Burns:** Always use gloves when handling heated items and be cautious of hot surfaces.

By following these instructions, you will successfully and safely install your turbo guard. Enjoy the enhanced performance and protection it offers!

Titanium Care

Titanium is a remarkable metal known for its strength, lightness, and resistance to corrosion. When caring for titanium, it's important to note how it interacts with oils and how to maintain its pristine condition.

### Why Titanium Changes Color:

Titanium has a special property where it can develop a unique color when exposed to oils, such as those from fingerprints or cosmetics. This color change is due to a process known as "anodization," where the oil acts as a barrier that affects the way light refracts through the surface. This effect doesn't damage the titanium but can alter its appearance temporarily.

### Caring for Titanium:

To preserve the natural look of your titanium items, follow these easy care tips:

1. **Regular Cleaning:**

   - **Materials Needed:** Warm water and Dawn dish soap.

   - Mix a small amount of Dawn dish soap with warm water.

   - Soak the titanium item in the mixture for a few minutes.

2. **Gentle Scrubbing:**

   - Use a soft, lint-free cloth or a non-abrasive sponge to gently clean the surface.

   - Pay extra attention to areas that come in frequent contact with skin or other oil-prone surfaces.

3. **Rinsing:**

   - After scrubbing, rinse the item thoroughly with warm water to ensure all soap residues are removed.

4. **Drying:**

   - Pat the item dry using a clean, lint-free cloth.

   - Ensure it's completely dry to prevent watermarks.

5. **Dust and Debris Removal:**

   - For removing dust or debris from hard-to-reach areas, consider using compressed air.

### Additional Tips:

- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can scratch or dull the titanium surface.

- If the item is jewelry, remove it before applying lotions or oils to avoid buildup.

- Store titanium pieces separately to prevent scratches from harder objects.

By following these easy steps, you can maintain the look and feel of your titanium items, ensuring they remain as stunning as the day you got them. Keep in mind that any color changes due to oil exposure are temporary and can be resolved with regular cleaning.
